Password Management for AppXtender 16.3
Using BDM AppXtender in Banner 9
Banner 9 now uses CAS Single Sign ON (SSO) which allows users to log into Banner 9 with their Net ID and Net ID password while also using DUO Two Factor Authentication. The steps for logging into BDM AppXtender are as follows:
- Log in through the CAS SSO page as shown below:
Once inside Banner you may launch AppXtender from a Banner form by clicking either the "Add" or "Retrieve" buttons as seen below.
This will launch AppXtender, If you clicked "Retrieve" it will complete your query. If you clicked "Add" it will take you to the scanning page.
Using BDM AppXtender in Banner 8
If you are still using Banner 8 you WILL NOT be able to
Sync your Banner password with BDM AppXtender
Launch BDM AppXtender from a Banner form
If you are still using Banner 8 you WILL be able to
Log into BDM AppXtender from the UTS Banner home page in TEST or PROD
From there you will need to log into BDM AppXtender with your Banner ID and Password; NOT your Net ID.
Resetting Your Banner Password
If you do not know your Banner password and you need to reset your Banner password, you will not be able to sync that password with AppXtender as you did in Banner 8.
In this case log into Banner 9 AppXtender as outlined in one of the methods above.
Once inside AppXtender you can change your password by clicking the arrow by your user name as seen below.
Then you can change your BDM !Appxtender password.
At that point you can reset your Banner password to match that of the BDM AppXtender password.
