Network access for special events

If you are organizing a special event needing Network access that is outside of the designed areas there is no guarantee of acceptable wireless performance. Also, you will need follow and provide the information below requested:

* If the intended audience for an event are minors or at least part of them are (under the age of 18) you need to be aware that providing access to the Internet requires special provisioning. In general, you have to attest that the guidelines under the Children's Internet Protection Act are followed. The quick description is posted here: https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/childrens-internet-protection-act . Also you need to complete the University Youth Protection on Campus. https://wwwp.oakland.edu/Assets/upload/docs/Youth-Protection/Minors-on-campus-checklist.pdf . Minors must have all Internet access monitored.

* Provide a copy of the Waivers Form attendess/ minors that will need to complete (if applicable).

* Provide the number of attendes.

* Location of the event

* Reason for Internet Access (Access to University Resources, general web surfing, etc)

* If this is an even organized by a Student Organization provide the name and NetID for the Faculty Advisor.

* The attendees will have "Temporary Access" (24 hours) a sponsor will need to provide this access. Please provide the NetID for the sponsor, this person will need to reply to the ticket created agreeing to Policy 890 "Use of University Information Technology Resource" https://wwwp.oakland.edu/policies/information-technology/890/

* Add a link to Policy 890 to any of the Waivers / Release Forms or provide a physical copy to all the attendess using OU Network Resources.

* Review of Policy 850 https://wwwp.oakland.edu/policies/information-technology/850/ .
