A High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster is the modern term for Super Computing, where a collection of interconnected computers are used to provide scalable computational resources to solve complex problems. Oakland University's HPC cluster (named Matilda) is comprised of >2000 CPU processing cores, hundreds of terabytes (TB) of storage capacity, graphical processing units (GPUs), and single node RAM availability ranging from 192GB to 1.5TB. For an overview of Matilda and its capabilities, please refer to one of the presentation slide decks (pdf format) from one of our previous Workshop Training sessions. To apply for a Matilda account, you either need to be a Principal Investigator (PI) or be sponsored by one. Please refer to "Requesting a Matilda Account" for more information.
