Connecting to eduroam
Note: You will need to re-enter your password whenever you change it.
Automatic Configuration
- Connect to the internet using an alternative method
- Open your device’s browser
Note: iOS devices must use Safari
Navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org
- Click the Link “Click here to download your eduroam installer”
- Select Oakland University
- Click “Download your eduroam installer”
Note: This should accurately reflect your device’s Operating System. If it does not, click “Choose another installer to download” and select the correct option
- Run the downloaded application and follow the prompts
When prompted, use your ADMNET credentials, with the user in the form: [email protected]
Manual Configuration
iOS
- Open Settings Tap Wi-Fi Select ‘eduroam’
Enter your email address (e.g. [email protected] )
- Enter your ADMNET password
- Tap Join
- Tap Trust to accept the *.oakland.edu certificate
Android
- Open Settings
- Tap Connections
- Select ‘eduroam’
- Tap Trust to accept the *.oakland.edu certificate
Enter your email address (e.g. [email protected] )
- Enter your ADMNET password
- Tap Connect
Windows
- Windows based devices will only connect using the Automatic Configuration steps listed above.
MacOS
- Click the Wireless Icon on the Menu Bar Select ‘eduroam’
Enter your email address (e.g. [email protected] )
- Enter your ADMNET password
- Tap Join At the “Verify Certificate” window
- Click Continue to accept the *.oakland.edu certificate
Linux (Tested with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS)
- Click ‘Activities’
- Type ‘Wi-Fi’ in the search box.
- Select ‘Wi-Fi’
- Select ‘eduroam’ from ‘Visible Networks’
- In the ‘Security’ tab fill in the following values
Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
- Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
Anonymous Identity: <Leave Blank>
Domain: <Leave Blank>
- CA Certificate: /etc/ssl/certs/GlobalSign_Root_CA_-_R3.pem
- PEAP version: Automatic
- Inner Authentication: MSCHAPv2
Username: email address (e.g. [email protected] )
- Password: Enter your ADMNET password
- Click ‘Connect’
