Google Sites Redirect Guidelines
Users that had sites within Oakshare as of July 10, 2019 that would like be maintain their redirect from www.oakland.edu/~netid will be able to request a redirect to a Google Site by putting in a ticket to [email protected] under the following guidelines.
The target Google Site name should be the users NetId. e.g. https://sites.google.com/oakland.edu/[NetId]
- The site will need to be hosted with Google Sites within the oakland.edu G Suite domain using Google New Sites.
The base URL for Google Classic Sites will typically be in the format of: https://sites.google.com/a/oakland.edu/[NetId]
The base URL for Google New Sites will be in the format of: https://sites.google.com/oakland.edu/[NetId]

Google Classic sites can be either converted or moved to Google New Sites. Instructions can be found at the following link: Convert your site to new Sites
Sites should meet WCAG Standard 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards.

Sites should follow the Oakland University Licensing and Brand Guidelines as specified at https://www.oakland.edu/ucm/licensing-and-brand-guidelines/logo-and-colors/
- Faculty can continue to create a summary page in Percussion (the content management system for www.oakland.edu), as part of their department presentation and link to their official page.
Faculty who create a summary page in Percussion can link on that page to their Google site (link to http://www.oakland.edu/~NetId/) or they can link to any other personally chosen and personally maintained page.
