How to Configure a Scantron Kiosk

Scantron Kiosk Installation

• Create the Computer name using OUCAM (Building - Room - Department -ST#)
• Have TSS Move this computer to the Scantron/ELIS AD Group
• Deploy the scantron image through WDS - Scantron_Win7x32SP1_Office_AV
• After the install is complete enter the name you created from the first step
• Add the computer to the domain.
• Restart the computer - Twice.
• Once the auto-login processes, complete the setup:
  • Add network printers
  • Setup the Scanner:
    • Open ParSCORE Client
    • Login - train06/train06
    • Click the Options menu, Scanner Configuration
    • Click Detect (Ensure the scanner is turned on)
    • If this is an ELIS Computer
      • Open Scanbook (Run a job file from the desktop folder)
      • Click the Tools Menu, Scanner Properties
      • Set the correct COM Port
• DONE

Troubleshooting

• Problem with the icons on desktop?
  

  • Restart to refresh Group Policy
    

  • (TSS)Check the User GPP that creates them.
    

  • (TSS)Check the Script that maintains them.
    

• Problem with the applications?
  

  • Check the drive mount.
    

  • Check C:\Windows\PSWINX.INI - PSWINX path should be Q drive not \\server
    

  • Check the scanner configuration inside ParSCORE Client and/or Scanbook(ELIS)
    

• Problems with Scanbook software?
  

  • Restart to refresh Group Policy
    

  • (TSS)Check the ELIS GPO
