Replacing or Adding a New VOIP Phone

The following is the process to bring a new VOIP phone online:

  1. The HelpDesk receives/creates ticket.

  2. The HelpDesk ensures ticket has the room number where the phone will go and assigns it to NCS.

  3. UTS or NCS provides information on different VOIP phone costs and explains the $200 new extension creation/installation fee.
  4. Once a fund number is entered in the ticket and the costs have been approved, NCS will configure the phone in Call Manager. Additionally, if necessary, voicemail will be created for the extension in Unity Connections.
  5. NCS students will deliver the phone and ensure that it is working correctly. At this time they will want to work with someone with NCS switch access to ensure the port has a proper room description for CER purposes
  6. UTS will bill the provided fund number and resolve the ticket.
