Mathematica Home
Overview
OU has Mathematica licensing available that can be assigned for use as standalone "Home" based licenses for use off-campus. Faculty may be assigned one of these licenses (up to 31 are available), as can Staff and Graduate students with approval of a PI or Faculty supervisor.
== Requesting a License == First, open a web browser and navigate to the Wolfram Home License Request form. Fill-in this first page of the form with the Code "L8836-3309" for the "Site Activation Key", and select the radio button for "A new home-use license" as shown below:
Click "Continue", and then fill-in the rest of the form, including the License Agreement box. Click continue, and when you receive your "Activation Code" via email (an oakland.edu email address is required), download Mathematica on your home workstation, and use the provided Activation Code to Activate and Register.
Download and Install Mathematica
To download Mathematica for use with the network license server, connect to the Wolfram User Portal, and sign-in using your OU NetID credentials:
Select the "SSO" sign-in option:
When prompted enter your OU NetID and password:
Once you're logged in, select the tab for "My Site Programs":
Select the "Download Center" tab, and then select the "Standard Download" (an installer) for your operating system:
Initiate and complete the download of the installer:
After the download is complete, start this installer on your workstation, and follow the prompts to install the application.
As of Mathematica version 14.1.0, all Wolfram products are sourced through "Wolfram App" - this installation method may be somewhat different than the release of previous versions, so please refer to the Wolfram installation instructions as-needed.
Activation
When starting Mathematica for the first time after installation, you should be prompted for your Activation Code. Enter that code you received in the previous step above to activate and use Mathematica.
